Our founder, Mark Shelley, purchased his first race bicycle, a Viscount Aerospace in 1977. That bicycle awoke a passion that burns just as brightly today. His passion extends to personally participating, teaching, and working in a wide array of bicycling activities:
- Certified Schwinn Fitness Cycling Instructor
- Certified Real Ryder Instructor
- Bicycle Shop Owner/Mechanic
- Bicycle Fitter
- Brevet Rider
- Tandem Rally Route Designer
- Madd Dogg Athletics Spinning® Instructor
- Personal Cycling Coach
- Charter Member of RUSA
- Member USCF
The silent partner in this adventure is Diane Shelley, and accomplished fitness instructor for over 25 years, and tandem stoker extraordinaire. Diane holds a Masters degree in mathematics, and is a certified PMP in a global retail company.
Together Mark and Diane were the first tandem team to complete the George St. Challenge. For many years they held the tandem record in this local event. For the last several years, they have hosted the NEWTS (New England Wicked Tandem Society) annual assault on Mt. Wachusett, an ~45 mile route climbing to the Mt. Wachusett look out tower. In 2016, they will attempt D2R2, the 100 mile Deerfield Dirt Road Randonee featuring climbs over 21% grade.
